Yes, we are open!

Heart of the City Farmers’ Market understands the critical role it plays to provide food access for a vulnerable low-income urban food desert that lacks a supermarket. Too many low-income customers can’t afford fruits and vegetables in a City with the highest cost of living in the nation without our food access programs.

We remain open on Sundays and Wednesdays during the COVID-19 pandemic to serve our community. Our new Friday farmers’ market has been permanently closed. Learn more here: Why are we open during the COVID-19 crisis and what health and safety measures are in place?” Many of our vendors now offer pre-order, shipping and delivery options.

We Accept Credit Cards, EBT, WIC, EatSF, and More

Our Information Tent is near the intersection of Hyde and Fulton Streets, where customers can purchase tokens and vouchers to shop using a credit card, debit card, CalFresh SNAP EBT card (we’ll match your purchase with up to $5 free every day for more fruits and vegetables), or learn more about using food assistance vouchers like EatSF’s Vouchers 4 Veggies, WIC, Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers, and VeggieRx with our farmers.

We serve one of the nation’s densest and most culturally-diverse low-income neighborhoods. Ours is the largest farmers’ market food access program in nation, distributing over $1.5 million in food assistance each year. Our market provides essential food relief for our community. Learn more about our programs here.
